Riches, Beware of
Watch out! Be on guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.
A greedy man brings trouble to his family. (Proverbs 15:27)
All man's efforts are for his mouth, yet his appetite is never satisfied. (Ecclesiastes 6:7)
Death and Destruction are never satisfied, and neither are the eyes of man. (Proverbs 27:20)
As goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owner except to feast his eyes on them? (Ecclesiastes 5:11)
Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind. (Ecclesiastes 4:6)
A greedy man stirs up dissension, but he who trusts the LORD will prosper. (Proverbs 28:25)
A stingy man is eager to get rich and is unaware that poverty awaits him. (Proverbs 28:22)
Do not eat the food of a stingy man, do not crave his delicacies; for he is the kind of man who is always thinking about cost. "Eat and drink," he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. (James 4:1-2)
