Don't
you know that you yourselves are
God's temple and that God's
Spirit lives in you? If anyone
destroys God's temple, God will
destroy him; for God's temple is
sacred, and you are that temple.
(1 Corinthians 3:16-17)
For
we are the temple of the living
God. (2 Corinthians 6:16)
Let
us purify ourselves from
everything that contaminates
body and spirit, perfecting
holiness out of reverence for
God. (2 Corinthians 7:1)
A
man is a slave to whatever has
mastered him. (2 Peter 2:19)
So
I say, live by the Spirit, and
you will not gratify the desires
of a sinful nature. For the
sinful nature desires what is
contrary to the Spirit, and the
Spirit what is contrary to the
sinful nature. (Galatians
5:16-17)
I
tell you the truth, everyone who
sins is a slave to sin. Now a
slave has no permanent place in
the family, but a son belongs to
it forever.
(John
8:34-35)
For
I have the desire to do what is
good, but I cannot carry it out.
(Romans 7:18)
For
what I do is not the good I want
to do; no, the evil I do not
want to do - this I keep doing.
(Romans 7:19)
What
a wretched man I am! Who will
rescue me from this body of
death? Thanks be to God -
through Jesus Christ our Lord!
(Romans 7:24-25)
Those
controlled by the sinful nature
cannot please God. (Romans 8:8)
You,
however, are controlled not by
the sinful nature but by the
Spirit, if the Spirit of God
lives in you. (Romans 8:9)
For
if you live according to the
sinful nature, you will die; but
if by the Spirit you put to
death the misdeeds of the body,
you will live, because those who
are led by the Spirit of God are
sons of God. (Romans 8:13-14)
Clothe
yourselves with the Lord Jesus
Christ, and do not think about
how to gratify the desires of
the sinful nature. (Romans
13:14)
