I
have suffered much. (Psalm

have become like broken pottery.

upon my affliction and my
distress and take away all my

my life, 0 LORD, according to

upon my suffering and deliver
me, for I have not forgotten

You
hear, 0 LORD, the desire of the
afflicted; you encourage them,
and you listen to their cry.

my anguish I cried to the LORD,
and he answered by setting me

will be glad and rejoice in your
love, for you saw my affliction
and knew the anguish of my soul.

For
he has not despised or disdained
the suffering of the afflicted
one; he has not hidden his face
from him but has listened to his

comfort in my suffering is this:
Your promise preserves my life.

just as the sufferings of Christ
flow over into our lives, so
also through Christ our comfort

He
was despised and rejected by
men, a man of sorrows, and
familiar with suffering. (Isaiah

since Christ suffered in his
body, arm yourselves also with
the same attitude, because he
who has suffered in his body is

a result, he does not live the
rest of his earthly life for
evil human desires, but rather

also rejoice in our sufferings,
because we know that suffering
produces perseverance;
perseverance, character; and

consider that our present
sufferings are not worth
comparing with the glory that
will be joy revealed in us.

And
the God of all grace, who called
you to 0 his eternal glory in
Christ, after you have suffered
a little while, will himself
restore you and make you strong,
firm and steadfast. (1 Peter
5:10)
To
him be the power for ever and
