 Excellence in Teaching:  Uniform Standards and Expectations for Writing

The counseling department at Liberty has summarized the expectations for writing that apply to all master's level students.

·         At the graduate level, students should always write  in correctly constructed sentences

·         At the graduate level, students should always present thoughts in well-organized paragraphs, each of which develops one main idea

·         At the graduate level, students should always implement the basic elements of APA formatting

·         At the graduate level, students should be able to argue persuasively, providing appropriate support other than personal opinion

·         At the graduate level, students should be able to evaluate and analyze, and go beyond a simple recitation of fact

·         At the graduate level, students should be able to expertly apply theory and concepts to specific counseling scenarios
