Calcium-channel blockers

Calan; Cardizem; Tiazac; Procardia

Slows heart rate and relaxes blood vessels.  Use to treat: high blood pressure; chest pain; congestive heart failure; abnormal heart rhythm

 

Cancer Treatment

Interferon

Used to treat certain cancers as well as Hepatitis B and C

 

Corticosteroids

Prednisone; Cortisone

Rheumatoid arthritis; lupus; Sjogren’s syndrome, asthma

 

Estrogens (Hormone altering drugs)

 

(Changes in hormone levels have been associated with depression).

Premarin; Prempro

Female hormones replacement Therapy (HRT); treat menopause symptoms & prevent osteoporosis

 

Opioids (Narcotics)

Used to relieve moderate to severe pain.

 

Parkinson’s drugs

Increase dopamine in the brain.

Prescribed for reflux disease; suppresses secretion of gastric acid
